Crédit Agricole du Maroc and Visa signed a long-term strategic partnership on Tuesday, July 7, aimed at accelerating the digitalization of payments and promoting financial inclusion in Morocco, they announced in a press release.
Signed by Mohammed Fikrat, Chairman of Crédit Agricole du Maroc's Management Board, and Leila Serhan, Visa's Senior Vice President and Group Country Manager for North Africa, the Levant and Pakistan, the agreement seeks to develop a new payment infrastructure designed to expand access to a secure, borderless digital economy. The partners also aim to make digital banking and payment solutions more widely available to support Morocco's digital transformation.
The partnership includes the development of new digital payment solutions, including cashless payment services and business payment solutions, as well as initiatives to boost customers' financial autonomy and digital adoption.
According to Crédit Agricole du Maroc, the agreement will enable the bank to offer customers a highly secure, value-added payment infrastructure while strengthening its financial and digital inclusion efforts. Visa said the partnership combines its global payment technology with Crédit Agricole du Maroc's local presence to help make financial technology accessible across the kingdom. Citing its Visa Stay Secure 2026, Morocco study, the company noted that 97% of Moroccan consumers believe new technologies make everyday commercial transactions easier and faster.
