Morocco's objective in Thursday's 2026 FIFA World Cup quarter-final against France is clear: secure a place in the last four, Brahim Diaz said on Wednesday.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference in Boston, the Real Madrid midfielder said the Atlas Lions are ready for the decisive clash, praising the fighting spirit the team has shown throughout the tournament.
«We have shown everyone our mental strength and what we are capable of. That is the mindset we will take into this match, while knowing it is a huge occasion that every player dreams of experiencing», Diaz said.
The Morocco international also expressed full confidence in the squad. «I have absolute confidence in this group and in its ability to deliver another historic performance. I will give everything I have to help the team qualify and make our supporters proud», he added.
Looking ahead to facing his Real Madrid teammates Kylian Mbappé and Aurélien Tchouaméni, Diaz acknowledged their quality but stressed that friendship will be put aside.
«They are great players, but today we are opponents and each of us will be fighting for victory», he said.
Diaz also pointed to Morocco's resilience as one of the team's greatest strengths. «Our strength lies in the way we manage games and respond during difficult moments», he said.
