On Wednesday, Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdessamad Kayouh, presided over the inauguration of development efforts for the Fez logistics zone in the Moulay Yacoub province. This initiative, backed by public funds amounting to nearly 275 million dirhams, is part of the national strategy aimed at boosting logistics competitiveness and enhancing infrastructure to fuel economic growth.

The Moroccan Agency for Logistics Development (AMDL), in collaboration with the Fez-Meknes Regional Council, is spearheading the project. Construction is slated for completion in 18 months, with plans to offer serviced plots for logistics activities starting in 2027. This move caters to the needs of economic players while supporting the region's ongoing developmental momentum.

The first phase of the logistics zone will span 32 hectares, featuring state-of-the-art warehouses, cold-storage facilities, and specialized transport and logistics services. Strategically located on the outskirts of Fez, it aims to address the logistics demands of the kingdom's Greater East, improving goods flow and fortifying distribution networks.

Under the Investment Charter, an incentive scheme is now available for the logistics sector, benefiting both large projects exceeding 50 million dirhams and small to medium-sized enterprises. These projects are eligible for investment grants ranging from 10% to 20% of their total investment.

With this project launch, the AMDL has achieved a significant milestone, surpassing 500 hectares of logistics zones under development, outpacing the targets set for the 2028 horizon.
