The 12 Moroccan soldiers who were detained by the Mauritanian army yesterday were finally freed. «following the orders of President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, members of the royal navy have regained freedom», a source from the Sahara told Yabiladi. «The soldiers have already returned to the Kingdom».

A decision was taken to put an end to the incident Thursday morning. Moroccan officials maintained talks with their Mauritanian counterparts which led to a positive conclusion. For the record, 12 soldiers were captured yesterday morning by the Mauritanian army in Lagouira waters.
