A Tunisian peacekeeper managed to save three Moroccan soldiers during an attack that targeted a UN convoy in the Central African Republic, a Tunisian local media reports. An armed group launched a raid on the Minusca mission in Central Africa announced the UN Syndicate of Civil Servants of the General Directorate of Intervention (SFDGUI).

The soldier has covered his Moroccan brothers in arms allowing them to «retreat from attackers' target and open fire to retaliate and protect the convoy», indicates the same source.

Adding that : «the Moroccan soldiers have paid tribute to their Tunisian counterpart and saluted him for his bravery and for answering the call of duty».

On Monday the 8th of May, Moroccan peacekeepers operating in the Central African Republic have been targeted by an armed group.

In January, two Moroccan soldiers belonging to the Minusca were killed and others were injured in an ambush.
