Algeria has followed the rules, after its embassy's chargé d'affaires was summoned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International cooperation in Rabat, Algiers answered back.

Today, its minister in charge of the African Union and the Arab States League, Abdelkader Messahel, has convoked Lahcen Abdelkhalek the Moroccan ambassador, APS reports.

The same source claims that the minister has informed the Moroccan diplomat of the «intense protests» of his country following what he defines as «harassment» from the members of the Moroccan delegation during the UN Committee of 24 reunion which took place in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, a Caribbean archipelago, from the 16th to the 18th of May.

The Algerian Foreign Affairs department talks in a statement of «provocations against the Algerian diplomat», who was behind a physical assault against his Moroccan counterpart.

APS news agency insists that Messahel has explained to the Kingdom's ambassador that this «behavior is unacceptable and contrary to the elementary rules of decency and an attempt against courtesy and the diplomatic customs and traditions».

Last time Lahcen Abdelkhalek was summoned at the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was on the 23rd of April on the topic of Syrian refugees.
