Just a few days after visiting the Middle East aiming at tightening the bilateral ties between the USA and Arab countries, Donald Trump's administration is willing to cut £ 656 million of the assistant provided for the Middle East and North Africa, the Independent reports.

«On Tuesday his administration moved to slash its Middle East and North Africa aid budget by up to 80 per cent», states the same source. The 2018 fiscal year proposals that were released by the white house suggest drastic cuts to the US’ diplomacy and foreign budget.

Morocco is also going to be affected by a 65 per cent security assistance drop and economic assistance cut by one third. The US president along with his wife Melania Trump and his daughter Ivanka Trump went to Saudi Arabia to attend the first edition of the Arabi-Islamic US summit. The event was attended by representatives from 50 Muslim nations where Trump delivered a «message of friendship and hope and love» to the Arab world.

For the record, the US foreign aid is given by the United States government to other governments and it is divided into two broad categories namely military aid and economic assistance. Sums of this aid are also granted to non-governmental agencies and individuals through American foundations.
