Rafiee Ghani, a Malaysian visual artist has drawn inspiration from Morocco’s landscape for his recent exhibition entitled «Adventures in Wonderland». According to Star2.com, Ghani’s new exposition «is a visual diary of the wonderful places he visited while on a month-long solo trip to Morocco in 2012».

The artist’s love for the North African region has pushed him to define through his art the beauty and uniqueness of the Kingdom. «You drive in the desert; you can see people playing football in their full costumes, their Jelabah. And their markets are huge bustling affairs. They are not affected by what is going on in the other parts of the Middle East. And I find that very joyful», Ghani told the same source.

Rafiee’s new show is part of his North African-inspired epic Desert exhibition that was first held in Kuala Lumpur in 2014. «Adventures in Wonderlands» contains 15 semi-abstract watercolor artworks archiving his trip to the North African kingdom.

The artist’s collection has paintings that portay the authenticity of Morocco’s architecture. He stated that two of his paintings entitled Kasbah1 and Kasbah2 «depict what Morocco is all about. It’s all part of their national heritage, you can’t find these anywhere else in the world».
