The Moroccan Boxer hassan Saada is coming home on Friday 9th of June after retrieving his passport. A Brazilian court has allowed Saada to return to Morocco without any terms or conditions on his stay and the date of his return, Hesport reports.
«The court has accepted a Hassan Saada’s request to participate in the African boxing championship. He was handed back his passport to leave for Morocco and join the tournament without putting any terms or restrictions to the trip», Nourreddine Benabdenbi, the secretary general of the National Olympic Committee told the same source.
Benabdenbi has confirmed that the Brazilian court is convinced of the innocence of the boxer,yet it hesitates to pronounce its verdict fearing that he would file a claim against it.
The Moroccan boxer, who was supposed to be the first pugilist to participate at last year's Rio de Janeiro Olympics, he was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting two housekeepers in the Olympic Village.
The 22-year-old athlete from Casablanca was placed in pre-trial detention and provisionally released a few days later. The Brazilian authorities had also confiscated his passport and had ordered him not to leave Rio de Janeiro.
