Morocco : 88 community hospitals built by the Ministry of Health

The Ministry of Health has built 88 equipped community hospitals, exceeding the number that was planned before (80), the Minister of Health Lhoucine El Ouardi said on Tuesday in Rabat.

Responding to two oral questions asked by two deputies at the chamber of representatives concerning the problems of emergency services, El Ouardi stated that in addition to the existing scanners in public hospitals, 23 others were purchased this year while 26 will be soon bought for next year.

In addition, several measures have been taken to promote and upgrade emergencies and the creation of pre-hospital emergencies (including 4 helicopters and 4 mobile emergency units), the minister added.

Given the insufficient number of specialists in emergency medicine, training in this area has been established for nurses at the training centers of the Ministry of Health, El Ouardi concluded.
