Egyptian authorities have allowed a Royal Air Maroc plane coming from Casablanca to cross the Egyptian airspace on its way to Doha for the first time since the beginning of the Gulf Countries crisis, Egyptian media said today quoting a Civil Aviation Ministry official.
The same source added that the approval was given to Royal Air Maroc to cross the airspace of Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain before landing in Qatar, after the Moroccan company issued a request to the Central Air Transport Authority of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority .
Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt have agreed to impose an air, sea and land embargo on Qatar for weeks. They have cut diplomatic ties with the neighboring country accusing it of financing terrorism in the region.
