«The Kingdom of Morocco has decided to immediately summon, for consultation, the Ambassador of His Majesty the King in The Hagu», the Foreign Ministry and International Cooperation said in a statement on Saturday.

The department of Nacer Bourita explains that during the last two days, contacts have taken place between the Moroccan and Dutch authorities, at the level of the heads of government and the foreign ministers, respectively. These contacts have dealt with the actions of a notorious trafficker of Moroccan origin residing in the Netherlands, who is the subject of two international arrest warrants issued by the Moroccan courts, for being part of an «association of wrongdoers» since 2010, And «international drug trafficking» since 2015.

The Dutch authorities has investigated the trafficker's involvement in financing and logistically supporting some sectors in the north of Morocco, the statement said, indicating that the Kingdom of Morocco, which has always cooperated with the European union and the Netherlands to fight against drug trafficking would not tolerated the fact that a well-known trafficker is trying to create a favorable situation for his criminal acts.

«It was made clear to the Dutch authorities that concrete and urgent measures must be taken into consideration to fight against this trafficker», according to the same source.

Morocco has the right to draw all the consequences and implications that would be necessary in the bilateral relations and to take the necessary political and diplomatic measures, underlines the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
