Nearly 100,000 Moroccans naturalized in OECD countries in 2015

«The prospects for international migration», the annual report of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), highlighted this year he details of migration in OECD countries and the impact of the recent Increase in migration in those nations.

In this 41st edition, as underlined by the daily Le Matin, Morocco is in a good position since in 2015, 1.2% of Moroccans entered the countries of the organization «an evolution of 2% compared to 2014». The document also states that in 2015 the Kingdom became one of the «top 20 countries that have acquired nationality in OECD countries.» Of the 2 million people who have been naturalized, there are 92,000 Moroccans. Morocco is located in the five main countries of origin of naturalized foreigners just behind India (130,000), Mexico (112,000) and the Philippines (94,000), and ahead of China (78,000).

Lastly, Morocco is ranked by the report as the 22nd origin country for migrants in OECD countries.
