Three people died in a car accident on the 21st of July in Tortona, a commune of Piemonte, in the Province of Alessandria, Italy, Alessandria News, a local online newspaper reports. The driver lost control of the car and hit a tree, he was transported to the hospital in a critical condition while the three other passengers succumbed instantly.

According to the same source the three deceased Moroccans aged between 26 and 35 years old. Their names have not yet been released but their bodies were carried to Tortona's morgue. The police have opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of the accident that occurred after midnight between Friday and Saturday.

The accident took place in Pontecurone, a commune in the Province of Alessandria in the Italian region of Piemonte, on a provincial road heading to Valenza.

According to a different source, online newspaper Il Secolo XIX, a Moroccan national riding a bike was hit by a car and also died on the spot in Tortona. However, versions differed regarding his actual nationality as Alessandria News claimed that the deceased man was Nigerian.
