Belgium : Salah Abdeslam to stand trial for shooting policemen

Salah Abdeslam, one of the Paris attack suspects, will have to stand in trial for shooting policemen while trying to escape a «Europe-wide manhunt» in March 2016, threedays before his arrest, the Independent reports.

Jailed since the 27th of April in Fleury-Mérogis prison in Paris, Salah Abdeselam will appear in court by the end of this year for taking part of the Paris attack in November 2015.

«Abdeslam stands accused of playing a key role providing logistics for suicide bombers, including his own brother, who killed 130 people in the French capital», the same source explains.

Since his arrest, Salah Abdeslam decided to remain silent. His lawyers, Fran Betron, and Sven Mary gave up defending him in October 2016. «We simply cannot speak for a man who is keeping quiet», Mary told L’obs.
