On Saturday afternoon in Barcelona, hundreds of Muslims organized a rally against terrorism, reports Euronews. Dozens of passers-by spontaneously joined the demonstration, where the crowds repeated that they «will not give in to fear».

«We are Muslims, we are not terrorists,» the demonstrators chanted. A slogan taken from the Ramblas of Barcelona, where Thursday a man driving a van has crushed the crowds. «We are also victims of what happened,» says one participant, questioned by Euronews. «What has happened hurts us, now people generalize and start staring at us or insulting us in the streets,» she said.

«It could have happened to me too,» says a man who claims to be «Muslim» and who does «no harm to anyone.» «I pay my taxes ... This country gives me everything I want. I'm not violent. I am so sorry for what happened to these people, they are like me ...», he says.

For its part, Sputnik News reports that the participants in this demonstration have expressed their rejection of this terrorist attack. They waved signs saying «I am a Muslim, not a terrorist», «Islam is peace», «Not on our behalf» or «Stop terrorism,» the media reported. The demonstrators also chanted the slogan «No tinc por», «I am not afraid».
