A Tuelda judge has ordered the release of two men arrested by the Guardia Civil on Monday near the town of Fitero, a municipality located in the province and autonomous community of Navarre, northern Spain, for injuring three Moroccan minors, Ediario reports.

The three Moroccans aged between 13 and 17 were physically assaulted over the weekend after attending  the minute of silence gathering organized to support the victims of the Catalonia attacks. According to the same source, the three teenagers were first prevented from entering a store, when they returned home they noticed that a car was following them. As explained by the Civil Guard, two men carrying a large stick started beating the Moroccan nationals.

Filing a complaint on the 19th of August, the minors were injured in the head and lost conscious. In a statement issued after the court’s ruling by the Civil Guard, it is stressed that the attack had Islamophobic motives. The two attackers are aged between 18 and 55. A third minor is also involved, and he is taking part of the investigation.
