The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Australia organized the Embassy's Academic Week from 22nd to 28th of August, opening its doors to students from schools, universities and institutes located in Canberra. The initiative holds the objective of strengthening the Embassy’s openness to students and schools in Australia.
The Moroccan Ambassador Karim Medrek gave a lecture at the Australian National University, where he shed light on the political reforms and socio-economic development in the kingdom, in addition to security and the stability.
As part of the open house, students from the Australian National University visited the embassy and were briefed on the political, economic and cultural life in Morocco, as well as the country’s relations with different nations, including Australia. They also had the chance to eat Moroccan traditional dishes.
In addition, students from Lyneham College, aged between 13 and 14, also visited the embassy, where they attended the screening of videos devoted to artistic life in Morocco, and had an overview of Morocco’s geography, tourism and culture.
The visit of the college students coincided with that of the Moroccan skier Samir Azzimani, currently on a sport tour in Australia and New Zealand. On this occasion, the Moroccan champion spoke shared his experiences with the Australian students.
