Nasser Bourita, the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has held talks with Rex Tillerson, the USA current Secretary of State today, Thursday the 7th of September, at the Department of State in Washington DC, MAP news agency reports today.
The two senior officials have shaken hands in a short video published by the American Department of State on Twitter.

The meeting focused on the multi-faceted strategic partnership between Rabat and Washington, marked in particular by the free trade agreement implemented in 2006 and the strategic dialogue launched in 2012. The meeting also discussed ways to consolidate these partnerships politically, and economically and overcoming security matters as well as cooperating for the fight against terrorism.
Discussions also addressed the situation in the Maghreb region, most precisely the Sahel issue in Libya and the Moroccan Sahara.
On this occasion, US officials stressed their commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership with the Kingdom and their recognition of the leadership of the King and the important role of the Sovereign on issues related to the Arab world, Africa, peace and security.
Bourita also held talks with David Satterfield,the Middle East director at the State Department and Terry Wolff, Deputy Presidential Envoy for the global Coalition for the Fight against Daesh.
