The head of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) is unhappy about the expulsions of 150 Moroccan nationals by the Italian authorities for alleged links with the organization «Islamic State».
«There is no tangible evidence that confirms their implications and the fact that they are not prosecuted by Moroccan justice is a proof of their innocence», Abdelhak El Khiame said in an interview published Monday by the Italian newspaper La Stampa.
El Khiame clarified that expelling people only because they chose a certain way of life is not beneficial for the fight against terrorism. He added that «identifying terrorist varieties must be carefully investigated». «In other words, if these 150 alleged terrorists did not come here to my office, it is because they are not seen as real threat,» he concludes.
