«The personal envoy of the Un Secretary-General for Western Sahara is expected to visit Morocco on the second week of October», a source close to the case told Yabiladi.
The visit is part of the Kohler’s first court in the region after his appointment on September the 8th.
The timing of his visit should coincide with the presence of Mohammed VI in Morocco. The sovereign is scheduled to preside over the opening of the parliamentary year on the second Friday in October, as stated in the Constitution of 1 July 2011.
For the record, the UN said in a statement on Monday that «for the past eight days, Kohler met with Antonio Guterres, senior United Nations officials, representatives of the parties and neighbors, and member states».
Guterres welcomed Köhler's tour of the region, stressing «the importance of this visit that would restart the political process with a new spirit and a new dynamic, in accordance with resolution 2351 (29th April 2017) initiated by the Security Council».
