The Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans living abroad will organize, from the 5th  to 31st of October 2017,«Douce mémoire» an exhibition launched by the Moroccan-Canadian artist Charaf El Ghernati.

The event will take place on Thursday 5 October 2017 at 6.30 pm at the Espace Rivages, at the headquarters of the Foundation in Rabat, said a statement sent to Yabiladi by the Foundation.

Residing in Canada, Charaf El Ghernati pursued his studies in plastic arts in Morocco and then in France. «His artistic work with neo-impressionist tendencies puts the memories lived in Morocco at the center of creation. The artist saw his emigration as a chosen exile,» said the press release.

El Ghernati also expresses its attachment to his country, Morocco, through the applying certain aspects that refer to the Moroccan culture, thus transmitting its interpretation of this culture anchored in him by the characters, patterns, bright colors and light. Immigrated to Canada, his paintings reflect the hustle and bustle in Canadian society following the terrorist attacks.

The exhibition «Douce mémoire» by Charaf El Ghernati marks a return, so much desired, by the artist to the country of birth and heart and is also a restitution of his memory, concludes the statement.
