The jihadist organization known as ISIS has claimed responsibility over the Las Vegas shooting that killed at least 50 people yesterday during a music concert in Las Vegas, adding that the assailant has converted to Islam a few months ago. But Washington doubts the involvement of the terrorist group, as reported by Europe 1 a French radio station.
«The perpetrator of the Las Vegas attack is a soldier of the Islamic state, he perpetrated the operation in response» to the organization's calls to target the countries engaged in the fight against ISIS, said Amaq, the propaganda platform of the Jihadist organization.
However, Washington has doubts. According to two US governmental officials, there is no link between the Las Vegas shooter and the terrorist organization. One of the US senior officials questioned on this matter ruled out any involvement of the jihadist group.
Identified by the police as Stephen Paddock, the shooter appeared to have a psychiatric history, the same source said.
