CMA CGM, a French container transportation and shipping company, is offering to link Morocco «more quickly» to Europe through Morocco Express 1/2/3, Hellenic Shipping News said today. According to the same source, the new line is «extremely competitive» one «transiting through Spain».

The service is going to have three different rotations between Morocco and the South of Europe. The first loop is «a weekly service on a fixed day, available throughout the year». The latter links Casablanca and Tangier to Marseille and it will be operated through 3 departures a week from Morocco with a 180-trailer ship.

The second loop, is also a weekly services on a fixed day available all year linking Tangier to Marseille and Genoa. This service will have two departures weekly from Southern Europe on a 180-trailer ship. The third loop is a weekly service that would be available during the period between November and April. It will connect Tangier’s port to the one of Vendres «with one departure per week from Tangier on a ship with a capacity of 65 trailers».

According to the same source, the service that the CMA CGM is offering will provide reliability in the sense that trips will be faster and more secure. It will also respect the environment as Morocco Express is accustomed to reduce CO2 emission by 43% compared to road transport transiting through Spain.
