Muslim graves in the Bois de Vaux cemetery in Lausanne, a city in the French-speaking part of Switzerland were vandalized on Friday night according to Tribune de Geneve. A man who visits the Muslim square every Saturday has discovered the act of vandalism.
«On my way and on the ground I saw tags saying 'Muslims get out'», the man told the same source which indicated that flowers next to graves were torn and some wooden parts were also destroyed.
The Muslim square in Lausanne was opened in 2016 to cover 350 burials of the Muslim community in Vaux which is inhabited by almost 30,000 Muslims. The project was launched in 2015 by the City and had created controversy because of a petition. The area near Bois de Vaux has already been vandalized in the past.
