After a successful first edition of the Startup of the Year Africa Award, which has received more than 500 applications from 44 countries, Startup.Info, the startups' collaborative magazine, continues its commitment to promoting African innovation, said in a statement sent to Yabiladi on Tuesday.
With the support of major international actors, such as the French energy group Engie, the French research engine Qwant, the competitiveness cluster Finance Innovation and the consulting and audit firm PwC, as well as 70 media partner the collaborative magazine is launching the 2nd edition of the Startup of the Year Africa 2018 competition.
The Startup of the Year Award aims at promoting the economic and social development of the African continent by highlighting its innovative startups. This contest enhances high-potential African startups by connecting them to a network of leading international companies in innovation.
The contest is dedicated to startups based in Africa, those founded by a member of the African Diaspora as well as international startups wishing to settle down in the continent. Applications should be submitted during the period from the 2nd of October to 10th of December 2017 on the following website : https://startup.info/en/startupafro/.
The contest is open for free to all startups meeting the following criteria: to have a legal existence (registration number requested), to have its headquarters in Africa to be elected «African Startup of the year», created after January 1, 2010 and have an MVP (a minimum product that meets the expectations of your target) or a prototype.
