A Moroccan national has been expelled from Germany to France for allegedly helping to plan the 2015 Thalys train attack, said a legal source on Friday as reported by AFP news agency.

The suspect identified as Redouane Sebbar is believed to have links with Abdelhamid Abaaoud, a Belgian-Moroccan terrorist who have masterminded the November 2015 Paris attacks killing 130 people.

According to the same source, the 25-year-old Moroccan national has allegedly received orders from Abaaoud to carry out an attack on the high-speed Thalys train linking Amsterdam to Paris on August 21st of the same year. The two men have also traveled together to several European destinations.

«Sebbar, who had been in custody in Germany since late 2016, was extradited to France on October 26 and charged with ‘complicity in attempted terrorist murder'», stated the legal source.

Redouane Sebbar was wanted by France since July. Investigators suspected his complicity after realizing that he used Thalys coming from Brussels to Paris days after the attack.

For the record, on the 21st of August 2015, a shooting and stabbing incident took place on board a Thalys train in France. Four people were injured during the attack.
