Hakima El Haite, a climate scientist, politician  and former Minister Delegate in charge of the Environment, who has contributed to the United Nations (UN) climate negotiations, will not be able to attend a climate change conference in Bonn on Monday, after the royal censure, reports the Climate Change News an online newspaper based in London.

Hakima El Haite, still represents Morocco as a UN «climate champion», said the same source. This role allowed her to guide a program that encourages partnerships between countries, regions and companies to reduce emissions.

On Friday, El Haite announced that she was closing her Twitter account on climate. «I close this account shortly. To continue to follow my activities, follow me on @HakimaElHaite. Thank you for your loyalty,» she said.

The UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which oversees the conference and global agenda, has not commented on El Haite's participation to the negotiations scheduled for next week, concludes the same source.

For the record, the former minister was one of the officials dismissed by King Mohammed VI on the 24th of October. The royal decision came after the Sovereign voiced his discontent with the slow pace of development projects, which fall within the framework of his «Lighthouse of the Mediterranean» initiative, inaugurated in October 2015. Abdelilah Benkirane, on the other hand emerged unscathed.
