Morocco and France sign five conventions in the fields of finance and transportation  

Morocco and France have strengthened cooperation in the financial and transportation fields, by signing on Wednesday in Rabat, five conventions on financing the extension of the tram lines in Rabat-Salé and Casablanca, transport and risk management.

These conventions were signed as the French Prime Minister, Édouard Philippe, is on a working visit to Morocco to co-chair alongside his counterpart, Saâdeddine El Othmani, the 13th edition of the Morocco-France high-level meeting.

It is a loan agreement of 40 million Euros and a grant agreement of 400,000 Euros, signed between the transportation company of Rabat-Salé (STRS) and the French Development Agency (AFD) to finance the extension of line 2 of the Rabat-Salé tramway.

The third convention concerns a subsidy of 500,000 Euros, along with the loan of 30 million euros to finance line 2 of the Casablanca tramway.

A partnership agreement between the Directorate of Roads of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Centre for Studies and Expertise on Risks, Environment, Mobility, and Urban and Country Planning (CERAMA) was signed by the Minister of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water, Abdelkader Amara and the Minister in charge of Transport, Elisabeth Borne.

On the financial side, a memorandum of understanding was signed by Vincent Di Betta, Director of International Development of BpiFrance and Hicham Zanati Serghini, General Manager of the Central Guarantee Fund (CCG).
