The platform of Sub-Saharan Communities and Associations in Morocco, (ASCOMS) organized on Thursday in Rabat a sit-in in front of the Libyan embassy to denounce human trafficking. The gathering was attended by members of the African community residing in Morocco. During the sit-in they have voiced their worries and concerns regarding the situation of African migrants in Libya.
The demonstrators, who came from different African countries, waived their posters and slogans urging the international community to assume its responsibility, protect African migrants in Libya and punish those involved in human trafficking.
Meanwhile, Camara Alpha, the secretary general of ASCOMS expressed his worries regarding these horrifying practices condemning the situation of African migrants in Libya.
For his part, the ASCOMS administrative and financial officer, Goudja Ousman, said that human trafficking is unacceptable, and that all African countries should intervene immediately to put an end to it.
