The Royal Gendarmerie has a new leader and it is not General Hosni Benslimane. The latter was succeeded by on Monday by major general Mohamed Haramou who was received by King Mohammed VI, says the Royal Cabinet in a statement.
The sovereign «thanked the generals Bouchaib Arroub and Hosni Benslimane for the services rendered to the Nation». «At the end of their meeting, His Majesty the King, may God assist him, decorated the generals Bouchaib Arroub and Hosni Benslimane of the Order of the Throne (Wissam Al Arch),» the same source added.
Before his promotion, Mohamed Haramou was the commander of the royal gendarmerie's honor squadron grouping.
Benslimane is a senior Moroccan Gendarmerie officer who served since 1972 as the Commander-in-Chief of this unit. He also presides over the Moroccan Olympic Committee and was president of the Moroccan FA between 1994 and 2009.
