Judo for orphans : An IJF delegation visits Bab Ghmat orphanage

On the eve of the World Championships Open 2017, that took place in Marrakech from during the 11th and 12th of November, Marius Vizer, President of the International Judo Federation (IJF), Ilias Iliadis, a Georgian-born Greek judoka, Teddy Riner, a French judoka  visited a Moroccan orphanages.

In a video published on the 7th of December by the Federation’s Youtube channel, Khalid Hajji, Judo coach spoke about the special project created in Moroccan orphanages. «There are more than 130 students who practice Judo in this orphanage», said the coach referring to the kids hosted by Bab Ghmat orphanage.

«We thought of this project 5 years ago now. We started the project in Casablanca. I thought of doing Judo with children in orphanages with President Chafik el Kettani».

Visited by the IJF delegations, children at the Bab Ghmat orphanages were playing, laughing and getting inspired by their role models. «The president of the International Judo Federation and some champions gave great motivation to those children to continue in this discipline» said the coach who insisted that «thanks to Judo, they will grow wise and come by things which will help them in their future especially in their school studies».
