SDX Energy makes a new gas discovery in Morocco

SDX Energy, a British oil company operating in both Egypt and Morocco, announced on Monday, 11th December, that it made a new gas discovery in the Sebou permit onshore.

According to Proactive Investors, «the well, which was drilled down to 1,896 metres, has encountered some 14.2 metres of net conventional natural gas pay in the Hoot formation».

The company also indicated that the new well is expected in 30 days to be connected to the closest production infrastructure. Meanwhile it SDX Morocco announced that the «drilling activity in Morocco is off to an excellent start and provides us with renewed confidence in the overall programme».

For the record, the Sebou permit, located in the Rharb basin, was acquired by SDX Energy in January 2017. 2D and 3D seismic surveys were carried out on the majority of the region of Sebou and sixteen wells have been drilled to date, thirteen of them were successful of 81%.
