Mauritania appoints a new ambassador to Morocco, local media reports

Mauritania is said to have appointed a diplomat to head its embassy in Morocco on Wednesday, 20th of December, local media platforms such us Anbaa.info and Alakhbar.info said. On the other hand, AMI, the Mauritanian official news agency has not commented on that.

The same online newspapers confirmed that a former minister, namely Mohamed Lemine Ould Aboye, is the new Mauritanian ambassador to Morocco. He had previously held similar positions in Niger and Senegal.

«He is an intellectual and holds a postgraduate degree in philosophy. He is also a member of the 'Club of Mauritanian Intellectuals of Democracy'», a source told Yabiladi.

«Aboye has no political affiliation. Before the announcement of his appointment in Morocco, the diplomat was neglected by the regime».

For the record, the Mauritanian embassy is headed by a Chargé d’affaires since 2012, when Mauritania summoned Mohamed Ould Mouaououi. The latter was promoted and appointed in Rome, Italy.
