France : Four months suspended sentence for the Moroccan who forced his way into the royal cortege

A court in Meaux, a commune in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Ile-de-France region in Paris, France, sentenced on Wednesday,  27th of December, a Moroccan national to four suspended months in prison for «puting the lives of others in danger», reports Le Parisien daily newspaper. The Moroccan driver’s driving license has also been suspended.

The defendant was tried on the 20th of December «for having forced his way into King Mohammed VI’s royal cortege in the Mesnil-Amelot road on September the 24th». He is now sentenced to a four-month suspended prison sentence in addition to a six-month driver's license suspension, the same source added.

At the hearing the 39-year-old man, who lives in Morocco and France, explained that he «wanted to approach the monarch, to tell him about his father, a retired military who receives a small retirement,» said Le Parisian.
