A movement of «young royalists» has joined the Hirak popular movement in Jerada. «The sit-in organized on Monday, January the 1st, and taking place in Al Amal square has been interrupted by five individuals from Hassi Belal», Said Al Manjami told Yabiladi.

«Carrying national flags and photos of King Mohammed VI, they denounced the marches and accused protesters of sowing seeds of sedition. The intervention of some young people from the Hirak movement quickly put an end to their sudden appearance.»

«The intervention of these 'young royalists' is surprising. In Jerada protesters carry Moroccan flags and photos of the sovereign and chant ‘live long the King’. Our demands are socio-economic and not political», explains Al Manjami.

Last weekend, the leader of this movement that had already made it to different previous social movements, urged his supporters to move to Jerada and put an end to the protests that lasted for twelve days.
