SDX Energy, a British oil company operating in both Egypt and Morocco, announced on Tuesday, 9th of January, that its KSR-16 well, located at the Sebou project onshore Morocco, has been put into production, reports Proactive Investors.

According to the same source, the well’s production rate is estimated at 8.43mln cubic feet of gas per day, considered as the company’s best results of the three recent new wells at the project. SDX is planning after this achievement to drill at the ONZ-7 location by the end of this week.

Speaking to Proactive Investors, Paul Welch, the company’s chief executive indicated that «this positive result on KSR-16 again exceeds our expectations for flow rates».

«It is the highest flow rate of the three successful wells drilled to date and we now have three wells that exceed our existing daily commitments of 6 MMscfd on a stand-alone basis», he stated.

The same source added that the British company is expecting to deliver «forecast gas sales rates of 10-11 MMscfd» in 2018.

For the record, the Sebou permit, located in the Rharb basin, was acquired by SDX Energy in January 2017. 2D and 3D seismic surveys were carried out on the majority of the region of Sebou and sixteen wells have been drilled to date, thirteen of them were successful of 81%.
