Morocco is participating for the first time in the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), to be held from the 9th to the 12th of January in Las Vegas, Nevada, says the Foundation MAScIR (Moroccan Foundation for Advanced Science, Innovation & Reserarch) in a statement sent Tuesday to Yabiladi.
Two prototypes developed by the Foundation's researchers will be presented at the CES : the first one is a LAB ON CARD developed by the Center for Medical Biotechnology, which has succeeded in identifying strains of mycobacteria responsible for tuberculosis. They developed a diagnostic kit based on the LAMP technique.
The microelectronics team, meanwhile, has used thermoelectricity techniques to ensure the LAMP amplification thermal cycle in order to materialize it as an easy-to-use portable device, especially during screening campaigns.
The second prototype is a portable olive oil analyzer that allows the analysis of olive oil parameters such as acidity, conjugated diene, using near-infrared spectrometry. A product of innovation that meets the needs of both professionals and olive oil producers by offering them a low-cost alternative, said the MAScIR Foundation.
A total of 9 startups will exhibit their products, selected by a commission that has looked into the evaluation of their projects. They were 70 at the start.
