Iraq: A German woman of Moroccan descent sentenced to death

The Central Criminal Court of Baghdad sentenced to death on Sunday a German woman of Moroccan descent for belonging to the terrorist group «Islamic State» in Syria and Iraq, reports AFP.

The woman, whose identity was not revealed, was sentenced to death for «logistical support and assistance to the terrorist organization to commit crimes», said judge, Abdel Settar Bayraqdar, spokesperson of the court, which handlesall cases involving governmental corruption, terrorism and organized crime

«During the interrogations, the accused admitted having traveled to Syria from Germany, then to Iraq in order to join the terrorist group with her two daughters, who married ISIS members», added the spokesperson.

This is the first death sentence pronounced in Iraq against a European woman.
