King Mohammed VI is not attending the African Union 30th summit, expected to take place on the 28th and 29th of January. Instead, a delegation headed by the Moroccan Prime Minister, Saadeddine El Othmani, he announced on his Twitter account on Saturday.

«I am at the airport to fly to Addis Ababa. I am honored to represent His Majesty the King at the African Summit and to read His Majesty's speech on migration».

It was at the end of the 28th session of the AU Conference of Heads of State, held on January 30th and 31st, 2017, that the sovereign was commissioned by his peers to write a report on migration.

Last July, it was Prince Moulay Rachid who represented King Mohammed VI at the 29th AU Summit, held in Addis Ababa. At the headquarters of the Union, he had in fact delivered to Alpha Condé, as AU President, a preliminary note entitled «Vision pour un agenda africain pour la Migration».
