The 17-year-old Moroccan-Dutch boy, killed on Friday in a shooting at an Amsterdam community center will be laid to rest in Morocco at the end of this week, Abdou Menebhi, a man close to the family told RTL Nieuws as reported by NL Times. «The family is very sad, angry and feels powerless», he told the same source.

Meanwhile, minister delegate for Moroccans Living Abroad and Migration Affairs, Abdelkrim Benatiq, contacted the deceased's father by phone to offer him the condolences of the Moroccan government and express to his family the willingness of the Moroccan authorities to provide them with all the necessary support through the appointment of a lawyer to follow the case judicially, said a statement issued by the ministry and reported by MAP news agency.

The minister also informed the family of his department's readiness to pay for the repatriation of the deceased's remains for his burial in Morocco, the same source added.

For the record, the deceased was killed by a hooded man, who fled the scene on foot right after opening fire on a bunch of young people. According to Dutch sources, the Moroccan-Dutch teenager was not the main target, he was one of the many youngsters who come to the center to train, attend cooking classes and kickboxing lessons.
