In Libourne (south-west France), a doctor was suspended for six months by the disciplinary chamber of aquitaine of the medical order, reports France Bleu. He is accused of discriminating against a patient's mother who was wearing Hijab, after the Paris attacks in 2015.

On the day of the incident, the practitioner took the woman to task during a consultation, indicating that the scarf she wore was «a sign that she was not integrated» and that she had to «pick a side». «It is not a war,» she told him. The incident took place a few weeks after the November 2015 attacks.

He was thus suspended for three months, with three others suspended for their discriminatory comments. The Order considers its attitude «contrary to professional deontology».

The Council of the Gironde Medical Association recalls «two, three or four similar cases» occurred in the weeks and months following the attacks of Charlie Hebdo (January 2015) and Bataclan (November 2015).
