The European Union (EU) and Morocco expressed on Tuesday their interest in pursuing, preserving and strengthening strategic partnership. They also declared that they are «determined to carry on cooperation in the field of fisheries».
In a joint statement, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Moghrini and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Nasser Bourita stated that they «have taken note of the judgment delivered today by the Court of Justice and of the European Union on the fisheries agreement concluded between Morocco and the European Union».
The two parties agreed to «further strengthen their political dialogue and preserve the stability of their trade relations».
They have added that «the close and sincere consultation spirit that guides the process of adapting the Agricultural Agreement has deepened their partnership».
In this regard, they expressed «their intention to negotiate the necessary instruments related to the fisheries partnership».
Both parties reaffirm their support for the United Nations process and support the efforts of the Secretary General to reach a final political solution to the Sahara issue.
