Because of an injury, Moroccan footballer who currently plays as a midfielder for SM Caen on loan from Monaco Youssef Ait Bennasser has only eight days to convince Atlas Lions’ manager Hervé Renard to include him in his World Cup squad, reports the BBC.

The 21-year-old player got wounded during a game he played with the French team last month. «Youssef will be out for five weeks and should be ready for the Monaco match (6 May),» said Caen coach Patrice Garande.

Ait Bennasser is still not on Renard’s list which currently includes 35 players and must be submitted on the 14th of May. The player needs hence, to show his fitness in order to join the Atlas Lions’ World Cup campaign this summer.

For the record, the Moroccan footballer «has made 22 appearances for his loan club this season in the French top flight», said the same source.
