Belgian Justice Minister Koen Geens (Christian Democrats and Flemings) will sign an agreement with Morocco's authorities on Tuesday (April 3rd) to better cooperation when it comes to the seizure of money related to drug trafficking, reports the Dutch newspapers Het Nieuwsblad and Gazet van Antwerpen, relayed by Le Soir.
«Until now, the Moroccan authorities were not ready to collaborate. Since 2013, Belgium has asked more than a hundred times for help in cases related to narcotics and money laundering, but few applications had received responses,» says the daily.
A silence that could be interpreted in a different ways referring to «economic reasons, because the money of the drug is reinvested in the Moroccan economy», concluded the same source.
