Speaking to the American TV channel NBC, a young student claimed that a Spanish tour guide have allegedly raped her during a trip to Marrakech.
In 2013, the South Florida woman went on a trip to Marrakech with a group of friends. They have collaborated with the travel agency Discover Excursions, based in Seville (Spain).
According to her, the tour guide Manuel B.V. urged the girls to stay in the hotel by night and asked them to «have a drink» in one of the rooms. Innocently, they have accepted. The man then ordered champagne.
«He had his back turned to us, poured the champagne. Then we drank a glass each and quickly things started to escalate,» recalls the student.
Moments later, the girl said that she did not feel well and she rushed to the bathroom where she was assaulted. The next morning, the American national had flashbacks of the assault and was sure the tour guide poured something in her drink.
Feeling vulnerable and weak, the girl said she couldn’t tell her parents, until she decided to come out on social media. Thanks to her bold move, several other girls reported similar assaults.
Contacted by Europa Press, the travel agency said that the young man no longer works with the company. An investigation was initiated to determine the circumstances of these incidents.
