King Mohammed VI and President of the Republic of Congo chair a signing ceremony in Brazzaville

King Mohammed VI and President of the Republic of the Congo Denis Sassou N’Guesso, chaired Monday at the People’s palace in Brazzaville the signing ceremony of several bilateral cooperation agreements in various fields, reports MAP news agency.

The Moroccan sovereign is in the Congo Republic to attend the Blue Fund for Congo Basin 1st summit, held Sunday in the same city to discuss ways of financing blue and green economy.

Earlier this Monday, the Moroccan monarch held tête-à-tête talks with N’Guesso at the presidential palace. The two heads of state saluted the national flags while the anthems of the two countries were playing, before reviewing a detachment of the Republic Guard.

The King was then greeted by Minister of State, Director of the Office of the Congolese President, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Congolese Abroad and Congolese Minister of Tourism and Environment.

Sunday in Brazzaville, the Moroccan sovereign signed the protocol of establishment of the Congo Basin Climate Commission at the end of the summit.

The gathering aims to collect resources and finance programs in the areas of the blue economy, the green economy and the fight against climate change and poverty.
