King Mohammed VI and President of the Republic of Congo Sassou N'Guesso expressed their concerns regarding the rise of extremism and terrorism in the world and Africa, during a ceremony held Tuesday in Brazzaville, says MAP news agency.

The two leaders welcomed the opening of the Moroccan Embassy in the Republic set to promote cooperation between the two countries.

They have also stressed on the negative impact terrorism can have on security, culture, society and economy.

In his visit to Brazzaville, King Mohammed VI attended the first summit of the Blue Fund of the Congo Basin. The latter bears the same values of the COP22 hosted November 2016 in Marrakech.

The gathering promotes for the financing of Blue and Green economy.

The republic of Congo has always defended the Kingdom's sovereignty. The country was on the list of the 28 states of the African Union that called for ending the membership of the SADR to the African organization in July 2016.
