Three prisoners from Morocco and Algeria have escaped the Favra prison in Switzerland on Wednesday night. They are still on the run, says the Swiss news agency ATS.
The prisoners did it in a classical way since they cut the bars, tied sheets and climbed a wall. The three men aged between 22 and 35 years old were imprisoned and waiting for their deportation.
The Department of Safety and Economy (DSE) states that the alarms «did not go off». The escape was only noticed on Thursday morning, when an officer noticed the empty cells of the three prisoners.
Moreover, during the night prisoners are not locked in their cell, but in their area.
According to ATS, «it appears that the three detainees escaped through the window : a bar was cut and the fence was cut and twisted. They would have rappelled, using a sheet, from the first floor to the ground, and then escalated the fence of the institution».
