Hervé Renard names the players to 23-man side plus stand-by list for Russia 2018

National coach Hervé Renard has named his 23-man Morocco squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia next month, plus his additional three-man stand-by list.

The list, published by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), is marked by the presence of three players from Morocco's football league, namely Ahmad Reda Tagnaouti (Ittihad Tangier), Badr Benoun (Raja Casablanca) and Ayoub El Kaabi (Renaissance Berkane).

Morocco will compete in Group B alongside Spain, Portugal and Iran, with a campaign set to begin on 15 June against Iran before facing Portugal on 20 June and finally Spain on 25 June.

Here is the list:

Goalkeepers: Mounir El Kajoui (Numancia, Spain), Yassine Bounou (Girona, Spain) and Ahmad Reda Tagnaouti (Ittihad Tangier, Morocco).

Defenders: Mehdi Benatia (Juventus, Italy), Romain Saiss (Wolverhampton, England), Manuel Da Costa (Basaksehir, Turkey), Badr Benoun (Raja Casablanca, Morocco), Nabil Dirar (Fenerbahçe, Turkey), Achraf Hakimi (Real Madrid, Spain) and Hamza Mendyl (Lille, France)

Midfielders: M’barek Boussoufa (Al Jazira, UAE), Karim El Ahmadi (Feyenoord, Netherlands), Youssef Ait Bennasser (Caen, France), Sofyan Amrabat (Feyenoord, Netherlands), Younes Belhanda (Galatasaray, Turkey), Fayçal Fajr (Getafe, Spain) and Amine Harit (Schalke 04, Germany).

Forwards: Khalid Boutaïb (Malatyaspor, Turkey), Aziz Bouhaddouz (Saint Pauli, Germany), Ayoub El Kaabi (Renaissance Berkane, Morocco), Nordin Amrabat (Leganes, Spain), Mehdi Carcela (Standard de Liège, Belgium) and Hakim Ziyech (Ajax Amsterdam, Netherlands).

Stand-by list: Youssef En-Nesyri (Malaga, Spain), Mazraoui Noussair (Ajax Amsterdam, Netherlands) and Oualid El Hajjam (Amiens, France).
